Ya know, I consider myself straight, but I think I'd do this, too... (-:

I think the only reason anyone wouldn't do this is if they were straight and kind of homophobic. To be clear, I don't think it's homophobic to not be willing to try gay sex, but given the circumstances; a like mind, no one will know (even the partner them self, as they will vanish), etc, it'd be kind of ridiculous to not give it a shot, IMO. Seriously, it would be that bad? Personally, I suspect that if I were straight, I would still be open to it because I think the argument for it being masturbation is very strong. You have sex with your own hand and don't think it's gay. However, a great many guys think self-sucking is "gay". Or putting anything in your own ass, even receiving assplay from a woman. Silly straight men. Nothing you can possibly do to yourself, or with a woman, could be "gay".

I'm curious, though. Any other straight people want to chime in? Would you sex a temporary clone, or wouldn't you? At least once? Does the fact no one will ever know help?

I have seen that. I reject his ultimate conclusion that as soon as your clone comes into existence, he starts having a different experience and his mind starts developing separately, and so he's actually just some guy. You're locked in a room together for an hour, sharing the same experience.

And I'm baffled why, of all things, the writer chose "fuck or fight". What is this, I don't even..? It must be a straight guy thing. That's not a difficult choice to me, fighting him may very well be the literally last thing I'd consider spending my time with a clone.

I think I don't want to reject either depiction out of hand, given that this is, y'know, fictional and all, so either is perfectly valid, and may depend on how the clone was made, the depth of his/her/its cognitive function, et cetera.

For example, yes, the clone would be locked in a room having the same basic experiences as you, but even if all you were doing is that, rather than going your separate ways, there are still going to be divergences in what both of you do, and what you feel about what you do (say, one of you is on top, which excludes the other being on top, and so you're both going to draw different conclusions from that same experience. Even if you switch positions after, you'll still have that distinction.) So, while it's probably negligible, the possibility of becoming two distinct people is there.

As for the fight/fuck dichotomy... yeah, I got nothing. Sex and violence tend to be a little of a blurry line for me, so both of me would hypothetically get something out of it, but when it's supposedly an alternative to sex? Maybe it is a straight guy thing. I haven't the foggiest. Although it is one of the few things that you could indeed do that would result in a definitive outcome, rather than you staring at your clone for an hour in awkward silence, or a stalemate of other sorts. And I guess it would also be an exhausting and possibly physically rewarding activity, but you could do the same thing by working out and dropping a five-pound weight on your face, so yeah, I don't see the point when you could otherwise be having free, no-strings-attached, humiliation-free sex for an hour.

I don't think there would be any disparity in what either would feel about what we do. And we'd draw the same conclusions from the same experiences. There's not time to become distinct people. It's true that if one of you wasn't willing to bottom, then neither of you would be willing to bottom, so the sex would have to take another form. Promises of reciprocation might be arranged if that was acceptable, with confidence in your prediction of whether the other you would keep the agreement. Actually if you're like Jamie and Naruto, when you reabsorb your duplicate you will remember it's experience as if it happened to you. So you will soon experience both topping and bottoming, even if you didn't flip-flop.

Not straight, but this post has now made me think of Homer Simpson wrapping his mind around the idea a bit...

Me neither. But that's not a deal breaker. Not even close. Having sex with someone I'm not attracted to would be beyond easy. The sensation is plenty satisfying enough.

Not straight, but I would. I wouldn't have to involve anyone else in my exploratory awkwardness, plus I'd know I've thought about it before and wouldn't even have to ask to know what I'm thinking. How great would that be?

That's a very interesting thing to consider. I gave it a thought and realised that I won't be able to do it. I'm a straight female, and I've never been attracted to women. I just don't find them appealing in any way. I am shy and lonely and I do consider myself unattractive, but I'd prefer being alone to having myself as a company.
My biggest dream is to have an android of a completely human appearance. Robots won't make you feel self-conscious, they accept you for what you are and they will not betray you. I think I would even prefer that to a real person...

I'm a woman and mostly gay, but I think that my sexuality would have nothing to do with it. It would be more like masturbation in my case, self-love deluxe - lol.

You need to get into lucid dreaming! I once had a very hot dream in which I met myself. She wasn't a clone, she was just a representation of me that looked almost the same.

That was one crazy dream. When I woke up I was crying, but also feeling pretty damn great.
