I'd like to see fanfic recs die--I've seen it for ego boosting more than once, and authors are free to add their own fic (and give their own fic pages!).

While fandom ego bloating can get out of hand, I actually don't mind that. I really love the YMMV section because it's usually a quick and easy way to understand a fandom when I come across a new work. If it were clean and cleanly combed through, it would be only half as interesting. Nothing against cleaning those pages up if you want, but I like them either way.
