I keep making this typo too because of that other video game series. ;)
I'm actually... very far into the game, and was actually going to start a thread! My highest link so far is female MU/Lon'Qu (they're together at this point. Fun times: giving them both killing edges and watching like 4 criticals in a single fight). Since I'm in pretty late, I have tons of support levels, and I tried Sully/Stahl but Stahl keeps dyyying... He's not turning out to be such a hot great knight, but Sully is an excellent paladin. I should have Second Seal'ed Stahl, but meh. My Chrom ended up with Sumia.
I also have everyone promoted except for one unit recruited via paralogue. That took a lot of grinding, but I have a tendency to neglect a LOT of units in FE games and I wanted to see how everyone turned out this time! Althooough Sumia should have been a falcon knight, not a dark flier. Whoops.
It's an amazing game though. I love the characters, the convos, and even the story. The generation system is really cool. I wager I'll beat it this weekend. :)

I am always open for more FE threads! Even if I am not the most knowledgeable player.
Wow. You're MU and Lon'Qu sound like a great pairing. His and Sully's killing edge is such a great asset to my unit. Stahl always dies on me too! He just doesn't want to live, poor guy. I make sure that before he engages in a battle, he's paired up with someone to boost his stats.
I have no one promoted yet. I can't make up my mind ><; Do you have any recommendations? I am trying to grind up all my units as well. It's taking a lot of time, but seeing all the different support convos keep me going!
It really is. Everything is so well put together in this game.
Holy moly are you far then! I really can't see myself finishing for a while. I'm a slow player.

Sully and Stahl have decent bonuses together, but I always have to put her in front/put her in the line of fire more often.
I waited until level 20 before promoting. More use of EXP that way. I kind of regret making Tharja a sorcerer and Henry a dark knight or whatever. They started out as my dark mages - I should probably have done the opposite. Dark knights lose the ability to use dark magic aka the purple tomes. I'm iffy on all my other promotions that I haven't mentioned already, but I'm so late in the game that I'm just sucking it up and dealing with it. (Do you have Cherche yet? She can be either a wyvern lord or a griffon rider - I picked the former and she's... okay, I guess.) I did all the paralogues available and optional battles, especially if I had a really low-levelled character I wanted to promote. And you know, recruit people.
To be fair, I got the game a bit earlier than, uh, this week, and I've been playing nothing but, for the most part.

I don't have Cherche yet. I looked it up and I won't get her until Chapter 12. Thanks for the class tips! I don't know exactly what I am doing, so assigning classes to my units will be interesting... I have been going through the paralogues as well. I am on #3 right now. I can't seem to save all the villagers tho. They keep on getting picked off at the cusp of the map where I can't save them ;>;
You got the game earlier than this week :O Are you a real life mage?

Yeah the villagers one was hard.. I lost one but oh well.
I got the game a couple weeks ago because reasons (totally legit ones mind you, so I don't have a pirated copy or anything XD), but it kind of sucks because I couldn't talk about it for the longest time since NO ONE HAD IT. So I was kinda relieved that some places started selling it early so people could get it and I'd have someone to talk about it with >.> I'm slow at games too, so I was glad I had extra time hahah.
