My silly computer.

Well I thought my power supply was on it's way out.

It looks like that was not the case.

Apparently my speakers, (a very old set), had somehow become ungrounded, or energized, or something (I went to re connect them, and got a weird high voltage feeling when a finger brushed against the connector), and it was enough to send my poor computer into a shutoff state.

I'm not sure if I'm completely int the clear but with the speakers gone, my computer seems to be ok. Now I just need a new set of speakers. Any suggestions F!S crew?

Anyone else have a oddly behaving computer? Lets share in out tales of those strange machines. O_O

I have a Macbook with 140 gigs of memory. One day I needed something to open some files I had in 7zip format, and I found this application that had fairly good reviews... it may have been 7zip, can't remember anymore. Anyhow, the app worked fine, but then a few weeks later, I found my computer only had like 10 gigs of memory left. It made no sense because it only had some basic apps, Photoshop and a few games on it.
I was totally puzzled and tried to look for the culprit, I even deleted iTunes' library but the memory just kept disappearing right before my eyes. Finally I dl'd an app that displayed everything on the computer in a fancy formation of colorful boxes. There was one box that was apparently about 100 gigs in size... that was the 7zip app. I deleted the app and got all the memory back, but I still have no idea what happened. I tried googling it, but found nothing reporting an app just growing by itself. What the hell, 7zip?

Oh boy. Okay, so my laptop has a bad LCD screen. It flickers and becomes interlaced and the screen stops refreshing itself. As far as I can tell it is a connection issue with the LCD screen and not a video card problem because connecting a second monitor to the laptop is perfectly fine. I've been working around the bad screen problem by either holding on to a corner of the laptop and typing with one hand (what I'm doing now) or by elevating ONE side of the laptop with an empty container of floss (this rarely works).

Right now I have a kink in my neck and my hand is cramping something awful. :(
