And my issue is that transgendered is not wrong, because gender is a social construct and thereby, yes, something that is applied/done. So your statement that "gender isn't something that is done to you," is inaccurate. Gender is something that you present and something that is done to you by other people when they make assumptions.

But even if you just go by your definition of gender being something that you DO...tell me, how do your transgender? You don't. You transition. Because you are transgendered (presenting as a gender opposite to your biological sex). Transgender is a malapropism. And transexual is the word people who think transgender is correct actually mean.

Because this is how words work, and it takes more than internet hugboxes and echo chambers to change it.

Okay, fine. Gender isn't something that is done to ME. I do my own damn gender, thank you very much.

Also, not all transgender people ARE transsexual. Not all of us transition.

I don't think transgendered implies that it's something that's done to you. Transgendered, the word, is a matter of grammar, not a matter of different implied meanings.
