Really? AC seemed like a serious attempt at creating more realistic-looking people and settings, which was only slightly animeish to avoid the Uncanny Valley.

As for live-action movies, it heavily depends on the style and tone of the movie. If it's a very stylistic film that obviously puts visual flair over realism, then you can get away with silly physics. If it's a very normal and down-to-earth film, not so much.

Again, this is just my view on it, and it obviously varies from person to person. Suspending everyone's sense of disbelief is had to do.
