Protip: just because you like a character doesn't mean you can't hate another character played by the same actor.

I know. What I'm saying is that I hated her, but then I saw Donna and it actually changed my opinion of Nelly. I don't feel I *have* to feel positively towards Nelly. I just do. :P

I think that the writing for Nelly just got a lot better in season 9 compared to what it was earlier, so maybe that's part of it?

I adore Catherine Tate but I had no idea she was on The Office US. I might have to watch some of her episodes.

Her character gets more consistent and sympathetic writing in the current season (season 9). Though I did like her character's very first appearance and she runs very gamely with her more awkward initial storylines, I'd recommend checking out later eps with her if possible.

I never saw her in anything else, but Donna is my favorite companion so far.

I know what you mean.
Before she was on DW she was in the 'Catherine Tate Show' and it was all the rage but I didn't like it. So I didn't find her very funny and also 'Little Britian' was all the rage but that could be partly as it was 'trendy' for people to always go through the 'Am I bovvered' routine which got really annoying. But then when I saw her entry episode on DW I quite liked her.
