*shrugs* I don't think a lot of the Once-ler fangirls would mind if you told them your head-canon is that he's gay. The vast majority of the Once-ler fandom on Tumblr is focussed on various Ask blog versions of Oncie and shipping them together, so it's not like it'd be anything radically new.

I got the impression that he just wasn't good enough for his family, period. They didn't like anything about him, which was sad as hell even before he screwed up the forest and sent his life into a shame spiral. It seemed like it wouldn't have mattered if he were gay, because he was already too low in their opinions to fall any further?

I get why fangirls think he was a woobie. Except for those five minutes where he was playing with technicolor fish, his life sucked and he didn't seem like that bad a dude.

I've never seen this movie but always see shit about it on tumblr. I've been operating under the idea that the Once-ler was the freaky little yellow thing (which google tells me is actually the Lorax), and that a whole bunch of tumblr fangirls wanted to bang the Lorax.
