That's so interesting how customs can be so different.

Taking shoes off at school is definitely a no in the US. And the other day I wore rain boots to work and then changed into less weather-resistant shoes after I got there and felt like Mr Rogers. It was a special little action that no one else did, and it made work feel more like coming home and putting on slippers :)

At one of my schools we actually wore slippers in the classroom. I kid you not. And why that's not a universal custom here, I think it does reflect that wearing shoes inside is not a great thing.
