What's making me grit mine is that they're going for a specific *maker* when they could be using stuff they got at the thrift store no one is going to miss.

Admittedly, I have a vague interest in china [specifically tea cups] so that doesn't help but...seriously. That kind of thing does rub me the wrong way.

I'm the anon who mentioned cosplay in the first place. Believe me, if it were possible to find a cheaper alternative, the fangirls, self included, would buy them. But so far as lots of crazed cosplayers can determine, that's what the Once Upon a Time prop guys used and as far as shape and color go, it's the only accurate choice. Considering Belle's character specifically is dressed in some very expensive clothes that have sometimes been modified, (or ruined, if you want to see it that way) fine china fanciers are probably not the only collectors OUAT cosplayers have managed to piss off. (Looks with longing at sold out Gucci peep-toe heels, Armani dresses, and Alexander McQueen skirts, not to mention still available for only $400.00 Chloe sneakers. Where's Rumpelstiltskin got to? I could trade my hypothetical firstborn for a heap of gold.)
