I once shaved off a piece of a fingernail, right in the middle of the nail. It didn't even hurt that much (I've had papercuts that stung worse, for sure), but it made me panic pretty badly.

As the fingernail kept growing, the hole kept moving up and up and it looked kinda goofy.
