James Bond is an old ass character, it'd be weird if they changed his character to fit today's standards (and the new movies are based on old novels anyway)

That doesn't change the fact that in REAL LIFE that behavior is not acceptable even for men, it's like you didn't even read the part I wrote about AIDS and STDs because maybe things are different where you are but here everyone assumes a guy who sleeps around probably has a disease or something. James Bond is more of a wish-fulfillment than a guy to actual aspire to these days

They don't seem to be. In the movies they shown as having a void in their lives that needs a monogamous relationship to fix it. IRL I know men who have casual flings and they're considered the butt of slut jokes even if they're light hearted and their friends would go to the mat for them. But I suppose its different in other places, hell, even in the same places just different people raised differently. But if I encountered it, it would make me double take.
