Re: Stupid injuries (Injury/blood/gore potential in comments)
(Anonymous) 2013-02-09 08:18 am (UTC)(link)1. I was taking the trash out one night, walking (seriously, walking) on the sidewalk right after the sprinklers had turned off. I lost traction and my feet slid out from under me, and I almost face-planted into the sidewalk. I ended up catching myself with one hand... and ended up with a hairline fracture in that arm.
2. I was in a huge hurry one day getting ready for work and accidentally grabbed a steak knife to cut my morning bagel in half instead of my usual butter knife. Cupped the bagel in my hand as usual, and cut through the middle... and then the knife continued on to my hand, slicing into my thumb and palm. It was ugly.
3. I was once again walking, this time in my apartment. My cat darted in front of me right under my feet, and while trying to avoid stepping on her I instead *tripped over her*. Sent the soda in my hand sailing across the room onto my laptop, and I landed with every bit of my weight on one knee. Within three hours my knee was the size of a grapefruit.
Graceful I am not.
