Yeah, not so much. There are people who neglect their children -- and that's a form of abuse. Doubtless she will hire a nanny who will bond with the baby, if she doesn't want to herself. But you can't just ignore a kid when they aren't convenient the way you can a puppy, not without harming the kid.

As for dressing up: Some kids enjoy it. Some kids hate it -- they are too squirmy, too sensitive to textures, too active to not wreck the clothes. If you have a kid who enjoys being dolled up you can do that. If you have one who hates it, it's not going to work. You don't get to choose your kid's personality.

You say that like the sort of person who would treat a kid that way cares if the kid comes to harm.

On the contrary, you are treating people who would do that like they are normal parents, rather than abusive aberrations.
