Was there someone supervising you, or were you alone? I'm not sure if it works if it's not your parent, but I know that if you're at home with a parent and they're supervising you it's actually legal even if you're underaged. Not sure if it would work for you if you're friend's parent was there. But either way if you weren't supervised still definitely not legal.
