I think not!Kid!Loki is also a huge draw for the new fangirls. And honestly a lot of these new fans don't have a whole lot to compare it to, so I can understand why they don't see its flaws

Well, the only people who give a fuck about (Not)Kid Loki are the people who were already reading JiM, so yeah, most of them are probably used to or like Gillen's writing.

I adored Gillen's writing in JiM and digged his Thor run, but I have yet to like something of him that's not an Asgardian show. I couldn't get past two issues of Phonogram because it read pretentious to me, and since YA is his so-called Marvel Phonogram With Eighteen Year-Old Superheroes... yeah, issue #1 left me a quite a bit cold.
