I... do this, too. I feel awful about it, because I don't really believe in such a thing as sluts (because of the arbitrary/shifting definition issues Biohazard girl described above) and because this is not what equality is supposed to be, but when I see men acting in ways that would get a woman called "slut" I really want to use the term. I think it does some good in that it makes people stop and think - not about the moral implications of their own behavior (I'm not actually trying to pass judgement) - but on the fact that there is a double standard and in a fair world of gender equality, men and woman would either not get called sluts ever, or would get called sluts to the same degree for the same reasons.
