Partially the voice (especially when she sings- ouch), partially how patronizing she is towards the dwarves. She kind of goes "oh, you're not little children, you're little men!" in one scene and then proceeds to treat them like small children for most of her subsequent scenes with them.

This. Those are grown-ass men that you're bossing around there. They lived on their own just fine for years before you came here, and you are a guest in their house, treat them with some respect.
