Are you sure this was shipping?

If you notice too people have good chemistry and think they'd be good together, that's not shipping. That's matchmaking.

If you wrote fanfic about them or started a sub/seperate page where you talked about how they should be together... then you are a RPS scum. That doesn't sound accurate in this case.

Naw I think it counts as shipping. I mean, isn't "notice two people have good chemistry and think they'd be good together" the basis for all ships ever (mostly)?

Hmmm, maybe. But I'm still not sure if it's RPS if you actually know the people.

I tend to call that "shipping" too but I see it differently from RPF, like Noodly. I don't think it's a big deal. That's basically what I came here to say - saying "person X and person Y would make such a cute couple!" isn't creepy. Writing fic about person X and Y would be crossing a line.

I think it's only matchmaking if you actually try to get them together, which may be less creepy than RPF, but can also be more annoying.

I'm not up on this drama! Names? Could we have names? Or is that just all kinds of wrong?

I'm not sure, but I think they might be referring to Cannedebonbon (LJ & Tumblr) and Carouselcycles (LJ)/Dooiepierlala (Tumblr). They're the only new couple in this fandom that I can think of? Though, I would hardly consider Carouselcycles/Dooiepierlala to be a BNF...

Not that I'm really in the loop with all the K/S people but that's who I thought of too.

Hmmm... I don't know that I would call cannededbonbon a BNF although she is fairly active. Carouselcycles isn't really active on LJ - maybe moreso on tumblr.

Cannededbonbon can be a little cranky. Maybe hooking up will help!

...Do they write good fic? Just curious, what with Into Darkness coming up. I haven't been keeping up with the fandom but I wouldn't mind following more Star Trek oriented people.

In any case, that's pretty cute.

Cannedebonbon (cannedebonbon.tumblr.com) is a really great artist. She's probably one of the most popular artists in the K/S fandom.

Dooiepierlala (dooiepierlala.tumblr.com) also draws, but she's much less well-known. She also writes fic, which she posts under the username Carouselcycles (carouselcycles.livejournal.com). I personally think she's pretty good writer. I highly recommend reading Valkyrie (http://carouselcycles.livejournal.com/8662.html) by her. She also primarily writes/draws K/S.

It's cute that two people in a fandom got together!

OP, there are definitely fucked up things in the world but thinking "oh man these people work well together, I wonder how they'd be in a relationship" is not one of them. If you were bothering them about it or insisting your ideas were right, that'd be pretty rude, but just imagining a possibility isn't doing anyone any harm.

So should we expect some steamy PWP from you, OP?

Let's be real. The only reason dooiepierlala is even marginally well-know in fandom is because she's close with cannedebonbon. She's not even that talented tbh.

It's just so fucking lovely that an anon mentioning these two people on f!secrets has been taken by a couple commenters as an invitation to meaninglessly talk them down.
