Just say 'girls'. Otherwise, people might think you want to hear about what lesbians/women of color/lesbians of color might have to say.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
>Just say "people that identifies as female/woman".

Fix'd

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Liking how you fixed that with grammatically incorrect English.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
SA: English isn't my first language. I should have used a corrector before to post *facepalm*

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:52 am (UTC)(link)
CHECK YOUR NATIVE SPEAKER PRIVILEGE! *shakes fist*

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
>Just say "humans".

Fixed.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
>Just say "sentient beings".

Fixed.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
so sentiest

I misread this as "so sentenciest". OMG STOP DISCRIMINATING AGAINST SENTENCES.

I stopped caring about gender issues a long time ago. I'll still call you whatever gender you feel you are, but I won't stop calling my genitalia "female sex organs".

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
I'm trans and I think calling them anything else is actually ridiculous. Like, I have the organs of the opposite sex, THAT'S THE PROBLEM. It won't be fixed by people calling them something they're not. The whole "womanly penis" debate is just embarrassing.

...There's a "womanly penis" debate? I really DON'T want to google that, do I?

Go to genderbitch's tumblr.

This. I realize that some women have penises and some men have vagina's, but there's such a thing as biological sex, and that goes with a certain anatomy.

Someone called my cissexist for saying: "Just because I have ovaries, doesn't mean I like [something intended for girls]. It's absurd to go to the point of denying biology, and it's absurd for being angry as calling their reproductive organs what they are.

Wow, really? You didn't even say "female gonads". You said "ovaries".

that is what they are. that is their name. they are OVARIES. What else are we supposed to call them??
astridv: (facepalm hawk)

[personal profile] astridv 2013-02-13 04:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Shit like this is why I eventually decided I don't want to play this ridiculous gave. I'm no gonna watch my language like a hawk, because it stifles conversation when it's taken to these insane extremes. (There, I said insane. Call the cops.) And as the recent potato-is-ableist fad shows, someone out there will find something objectionable if they want to and if not, they'll just make something up.

It's absurd to go to the point of denying biology, and it's absurd for being angry as calling their reproductive organs what they are.

Indeed.
Sometimes I miss common sense. I hope it comes back.

Because clearly sexism ins the answer.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
Sexism is always the answer, in online SJ.
