Movies/books/games and your job

(Anonymous) 2013-02-13 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
So I sort of wanted to make a secret about this, but I can't figure out how to word it without sounding retarded.

I've been wanting to get into a career field that's starting to get heavily cyber-focused. It used to be really reliant on humans, and for a while they were really only focused o recruiting folks from computer science.

I've been really stressing out. My skills are languages, communication, and the willingness to do shit other people won't, not computers. I've been worried I don't even have a shot at the field.

Then, almost by coincidence, I started watching Skyfall, and at the same time, I heard updates about the job field. They're trying to get more human focused, because of the limitations of not having enough people in the field.

Basically, everything M said in her inquiry speech. And I know it sounds stupid, but it gave me this immense sense of hope.

I am needed, after all.

What about you guys?
