Yes- if it's done in a community-oriented, solution seeking way. The problem I have with most Internet Social Justice people is that they are not interested in educating or making a difference. They bully, name call, shame, belittle, dogpile, and yell at people, turning off many to the cause, losing allies, and making the whole movement look like it's full of sensitive, whiny babies.

I'd like to make the comparison to religion. There are very nice, pleasant people who just spread the message "My God loves you", and then there are people who scream "you're a dirty rotten bastard and my God will kill you unless you admit that you're worthless, disgusting toenail scum!" And the second group really makes the first group look bad, and no, it isn't fair to the first group. Frankly, the second group is all about hate and bigotry, which is so far from the original message and isn't going to win any supporters except through fear. The second group is made up of bullies.
