Don't know if you're kidding or not in the fandom: those people are hard-light holograms of giant robots pretending to be humans. Hard-light hologram is a projection that feels like a real person, solid, can touch etc.

I wanna know why noone's surprised that Ultra Magnus the hunorless cop is being a sixteen year old girl.

Because he misses Verity, was my thought on it. He's used all sorts of avatars, or at least that's what implied in the spotlight when he's pursuing Scorponok, so...yeah. He obviously doesn't choose avas that match his internal view of himself the way some of the others do.

So, yeah, I just figure Roberts thinks he misses Verity and was paying her tribute.

Yeah, but does anyone else on the Lost Light, or in Swerve's Posse, know Verity? with the 'more accurate representation of your psyche' upgrade, *teenage girl* seems like it would be an odd choice for the Duly Appointed Enforcer of the Tyrest Accords.

It's Magnus. Primus knows what his psyche consists of.

I mean, we have a better idea NOW after an issue that I swear was Roberts' 2am (and possibly intoxicated) plot-bunny, but still not a great one. Perhaps his psyche is focused on relationships. He's been alone and a paradigm for centuries, so maybe his psyche is fixated on the last one of any span.

For Rung and Rewind, I agree. Skids and Magnus, however, look far better inside than on the cover. (Oh, goddess above, I hate that outfit of Verity's. Somehow it looks even worse under Milne's pencil than Roche's (and, as much as I love how Roche draws the 'bots, his humans are frightening).)

Agree on Skids, disagree on Verity. That one fits the Verity that was hanging out with Magnus and the Wreckers later on. The one Guido drew was early Verity. Makes sense she'd look like Magnus last knew her...

It's a terrible look that she wore in a very specific context - the fact that Magnus chose to wear her appearance as his holo-avatar is a pretty good indicator that he knows her well enough to know that metal crop top and gym shorts are not her day-to-day wear when she's not also putting on battle armour.

The last time we see her she is wearing a tight tank top and who-knows-what for pants since all we can see is the tops. Jeans, but we don't know what length.

I can understand you not liking it, but I don't think it is so horrible, either. I do like it better than the other getup, which makes her look like a little bratty kid. Something she more than grew out of.

I'm pretty sure that they said in the comic that he was taking Verity's form INSTEAD of one generated by his psyche. So it really doesn't mean -anything- other than the fact that he's remembering a good friend.
