Some people define shipping as "I want character X to be in a romantic relationship with character Y permanently". There's a big difference between that and liking porn with a certain pairing.

well, I mean, let's acknowledge that there's a lot of gradations in the middle of those positions

I mean, I would definitely call it shipping if you like the interactions between two characters and want them to be together without necessarily thinking that they're soulmates, but that seems to be the main thing people are talking about ITT

Oh.

I now think the concept of shipping is even dumber than I did previously.
