Judging by some of the set photos (which I unfortunately no longer have the links to - anyone else got 'em?), Natasha's hair is going to be long again in Iron Man 3. It looked pretty much the way it did by the end of Iron Man 2 - though at least it might also have her wearing a ponytail in a fight scene (hard to tell, set photos can be so vague...), so even if she has the long and curly hair, it won't be stupidly so.

That said, if you pay attention to her hair in IM2, it got progressively curlier with every scene she's in, to the point of looking ridiculous at the end. The more wavy-curly she has in her first scene (this one, I think), looks nice, but after that it starts going downhill. If her hair were to be "long" in the beginning-of-IM2 sense, I probably wouldn't mind it as much, but otherwise I agree, short hair works for her MUCH better.

but she won't in im3?

Er, no, she's already confirmed to be in Iron Man 3. And like I said, there are set photos and such. (Unless you meant something else?)

I heard she was confirmed to be in Cap 2, but hadn't heard anything about her being in IM3.

This. Natasha is NOT in IM3. In fact, NONE of the SHIELD crew are going to be in IM3. Feige, Black, RDJ & Co. have all been saying all along that this is a standalone movie where Tony is going to be cut off from his tech and not able to call for backup from the Avengers. If anything, Marvel is probably going to pull the same timeline trick with the Phase 2 films that they did with the "Fury's Big Week" segment of Phase 1 (The Incredible Hulk, IM2, Thor) by having the Phase 2 films happening at pretty much the same time so no one is going to be able to cross over between films before Avengers 2.

On further thought, I think I figured out where nyxelestia may be getting confused. There's a brief clip in the first trailer of a woman with short, bright red hair shoving Tony up against a wall. That's Stephanie Szostak, who is rumored to be playing an as of yet unnamed villain.

Okay, I just looked it up, and she was confirmed for IM3 for the longest time, but then more recent articles confirm she isn't going to be in IM3. I don't know why they pulled her out (or why she pulled out). o.O
