Y'know, I've heard this a lot. In what way is it "incredibly unrealistic" and..."easy to relate to physically especially by women"?

I write men giving each other hand and blow jobs, and sometimes intercrural/dry humping. Men who have sex with men do do that, afaik. I don't have a dick, so cannot relate to that experience.

I think the most apt phrase I used either up-thread here or on a similar discussion elsewhere is the prevalence of people writing "the backdoor like it's the frontdoor". When I say it's meant to be easy for women to relate to, I mean things like, IDK, the oft-used line of a bottom partner feeling the top's semen filling them. Which is nice, and plausible for vaginal sex, but not anal sex, because the rectum doesn't have those kinds of nerve endings that far up there. On example, and honestly this and most of the other usual suspects are all very small - things which, on their own, don't mean much, but combined together don't really represent an accurate portrayal of gay sex.

That said, most het sex scenes in fandom in general aren't all that realistic, either (I don't really know enough about lesbian sex to comment on femslash, but if it's following the trend then there are probably a lot of inaccuracies and generic attributes there, too).

Again, smut is meant to be fun, not true, and I honestly have no problem with that. I just have a problem with claiming it's realistic when it isn't.
