Headache for three days

(Anonymous) 2013-02-17 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
It comes and goes and is sometimes accompanied by nauseousness. It feels a little like a period headache but I'm skipping this month (not unusual). I don't have insurance or access to a free clinic, etc. Emergency room is my very last resort as I can't afford that nor do I have the time. I've tried motrin, tylenol, sleeping it off, and upping my water intake. I've been eating mostly avocado sprout sandwiches, fresh fruit, and raw veggies because I don't feel like anything else. I don't drink caffeine or energy drinks.

By "comes and goes" I don't mean it stops entirely just becomes weak enough for me to ignore mostly.

Junk food? Okay it sounds like a terrible remedy but it helped me immensely the last time I had the same symptoms.

I was going to have pizza for lunch today but the smell made my head pound and I ended up eating crackers and hummus.

Have you tried masturbating? It might be kind of hard to get to climax but I usually feel a lot better after.

This could be a low-level migraine. Did it start in one part of your head and then travel around? Are your eyes acting weird? Try a naproxen-sodium painkiller, stop looking at a screen, and eat something with protein in it. Music with a definite steady beat might help.

This is exactly what it is like. The weird thing is it started after I didn't use my computer for a couple of days. O.o It's very background right now because I just got off of work and it always goes away when I'm busy but now that I'm home it's starting to get my attention. I'll try your advice, thanks!

Have you tried Gravel? When I have a migraine, I take gravel, as my head feels like it's bursting at the steams and I get very nauseous. It conks me out and by the time I reawaken I usually feel better.

If it doesn't get better soon, please go to the Emergency room just in case. Hope you feel better soon anon.

I don't know how bad it is, but for period headaches, chocolate helps me usually. It's a combination for me of tylenol, chocolate, water, and sleeping it off. I hope you feel better!!

Caffeine can actually help with some headaches, even migraines, because it either constricts or dilates the blood vessels, I forgot which. (A doctor recommended that my sister try caffeinated beverages when she'd taken the medication and the headache still wasn't gone.)

Beyond that... my doctor put me on vitamin B2 and magnesium supplements to stop recurring headaches, but I don't know if they'd help at all when you already have one.

Is it possible you could be pregnant? Headache, nausea and missed period are often initial pregnancy symptoms.

There's literally no chance... but I'll admit to taking a pregnancy test on the off chance some one in fifty billion freak of nature happened. It was negative. Thanks though!

Sinus pills, Make sure you get the behind-the-counter ones with pseudoephedrine.

sa

I say this based on your symptoms that it comes and goes, and the length of time it has gone on. The nausea is probably from the drainage. The "period headache" feel will be due to the inflammation.

If you can afford it, or are near a free clinic, try and get some antibiotics. There is a nasty bacterial infection going around this year and I know people in several parts of North America who have had it (including me - five days of antibiotics and I was on the mend).

:( I'm going to try above anon's advice first but if it doesn't work I'll keep this in mind. I haven't been having any sinus problems though. Thanks!
