I hate it when my stew suddenly has those bits that taste like banana. I put potatoes, tomatoes, black pepper and some fucking meat in it. No bananas.

Maybe it's the sweetness of the tomatoes, plus some weirdness from the pepper or something?

Yes, I actually tend to think that it is produced mainly by the tomatoes.

This...has never happened to me before. What was your broth/base, if I may ask? Sometimes they result in weird flavors.
