Better to use a word twice if it means people will understand you, I always say (it's really the first time I've said it, but whatever).

Still wondering we're you got the numbers from, though. Human sexuality is interesting, and I'd love to check out your source.

Eh just my own experience with kinks and kinky people (which I think is pretty extensive for one person; I have been a purveyor of /d/ and kink memes for a while), and like I said, so much of human society being exchanges or acknowledgement of power and status in just everyday interaction and conversation. The excitement and obviousness definitely gets ramped up a notch when sex is involved.

But I mean, think about it. Beyond plain pleasurable sensation, like "pure" masochism (which is rare without SOME kind of power play), most fantasies beyond the most basic vague "me fucking this person" involve some element of surrender or control. IME it's a bit more often surrender, even if it's "surrendering to pleasure," which it often is. You know? One person being the actor, the other receiving and reacting to that act, even if that dynamic then changes in the next scene of the fantasy.

And then what most of society thinks of as "kink" is very obvious with it. Bondage, roleplay. Even public naughtiness like dirty calls or texts, up to exhibitionism and voyeurism, has to do with all the complicated social mores regarding privacy, rules, and SELF-control, and that all being breached, broken, or overruled by the fantasizer or the object of their fantasy.

Pyramid Head, along with his ilk of rape fantasy and hardcore BDSM themes, is just a very blatant, super-exaggerated extreme on the spectrum.

:( Aww, and here I thought there was some actual research. Never mind.

;-;

i know BUT I didn't expect to be asked to cite my sources, to be honest. I thought We (meaning the Internet) had agreed en masse long ago that most sexual kink, at its core, had to do with power and control/loss of control in some way. I have erred.
