I knoooow, right? As a feminist, I collected all the pennies out of my change jar and tucked them into a big bag in my dresser for safe keeping on New Years.

Are you noticing fewer pennies around yet? I left pretty quick after the change when through.

I work at a coffee shop, so the pennies that basically no longer exist appear to have directly migrated into our tip jar. As a feminist, I'm okay with this.

Hahaa. There used be this elderly dude who came in every couple of nights to root through the jar for pennies. His plan involved pennies becoming so rare that he could give them to his kids and grand kids as a kind of savings. He hasn't been in for a couple months though :(

Also, even though they're technically still legal tender, but I've had shops (food joints mostly) reject mine. People don't really use them or take them already, at least here anyways.
