Eh, it's been a while. As far as I remember she had that hyper annoying kid thing going on, but then at times she'd silently just do these super wide grins? I'd have to watch it again to be sure she did that.

Don't half of Miyazaki's characters do that thing? He's not exactly inventive with how he chooses to express characters.

I'm not really defending the character, just saying that it's a style he does that isn't meant to be creepy.

Yah, that's what I meant by saying I think she was supposed to be endearing, but it really didn't work for me.
