"which was doing grand Disney XD wise"

Stats? I'm curious, since they aired the later ones at 12 Am.

Let me get this straight

You are already invested in a fandom for which only a trailer exists, independent of any indication of whether it is actually good or not as opposed to just having cool art.

Yeah, I'm lost on this too.

Man, you should have seen the Legend of Korra fandom when all there was of the show was a couple of screenshots and the name of some characters. Some people straight up wrote fanfiction before the show had an airdate.

It was awful. The result was an over-entitled fandom who to this day hasn't recovered.

So don't do it, kids.

Yeah, but that's an extension of Avatar fandom; it's a little different. If they announced a new Star Trek series the people who became rabid about it would probably be fans of older Star Trek series.

This property, while it looks potentially neat, has nothing backing it up but a trailer and a kickstarter.

I never made the connection, but I think this is basically true. /sigh

Korra fandom, why so bitchy all the time?

(Anonymous) 2013-02-20 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE UNICORN BLOOD.

...BUT YOU COULD HAVE IT! FOR THE VERY LOW PRICE OF $99.99.

Don't ever search the tumblr tag for this - I did because I wanted to know what the fuss was about that new series - only to find only one trailer, some art and a lot of fanart for a not-yet-running series. But the by far largest part is the SJWs table flipping away about the "idiot cosplay kiddies who already plan to do blackface and see nothing wrong with it". The funny thing is that there are far more SJWs predicting how cosplayers will behave (and hating on them in advance) than actual cosplayers behaving that way.
cloud_riven: Close-up of an open-mouthed piglet! Is it recoiling? Or side-eyeing? Maybe saying, "HEY YOU TWO SHOULD KISS"? Mystery! (eeeeeeehhhhhh)

As much as you want to misplace the blame for cancellation on your hatecrush, no. That's all on Disney.

The good news is that you are totally allowed to hate more than one thing/person at the same time.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-20 12:40 am (UTC)(link)
FYI shows don't get cancelled because one person is a cynic, no matter how popular they are.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-20 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
I doubt the "it's gonna get cancelled because not enough view!!!" comments could do something like it, but the "leaked secrets" thing sounds interesting

honestly, OP, I would have named the person if I were you, if only so everyone knows which animation fan has loose lips

First, I doubt one person complaining got Motorcity canceled.

Second, what is the second show in this secret?

Urbance. People from the MC fandom mostly flocked over because of the similar animation style.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-20 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
I've worked in tv for years and I can guarantee you, nothing a fan says on messageboards, tumblr, 4chan, wherever, gets a show cancelled. Low ratings get a show cancelled.

(Anonymous) 2013-02-20 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
Eh... isn't Urbance that thing where people are strictly divided into male and female only groups because of some disease and there is supposed to be the good old 'het love conquers all' thing? When I last looked at the tag, the thing that confused me most was that the SJWs didn't have a field day with the "there is only male and female" business.

I do work on promo advertising* in a few popular shows. It's hard to be in fandom and not give shit away especially with season finales and such when I see them before they air. But still, I signed a shut-my-mouth waiver when I first started and I respect that.

*it's not even that important - lots of watching tv (usually random episodes) and saying oh that's a good screencap/clip segment that fits and making sure the discs we pass out to other parties for commercial advertising work. half the time I'm lazy too and just fast forward to whatever I think is pretty and use that. When the WB wasn't the CW, and before Supernatural blew up, I got to watch one of the early episodes when the girl who was supposed to called in sick.

In case anyone was interested. Not exactly my job (I work for another company doing tv) but like it.
