I feel you, OP. Not that I've ever done something similar to what you've done, but having watched my friends and family make various different decisions about moving away and staying at home/ in our hometown over the last few years, I can honestly say sometimes the only person who knows what the right decision to make for them is is the person who's making it, and sometimes that won't became apparent until years afterwards when the dust has settled. I'm glad things worked out for you :)
