Last fanfic you read?

What was the last fanfic you read, FS? Was it good or bad?

Tales From Republic City. Lovely writing, though I didn't quite like some of the characterizations.

Someone's first foray into Fifty Shades of Grey fanfic. It's from a badfic writer I subscribe to that wrote in one of my other fandoms.

I knew going in the fic would be bad; this person wants to talk about sex but doesn't know how to talk about it in a way that actually seems sexy. Reading the fic was worse than I thought it would be. This person couldn't even make their BDSM allusions sexy.

In short: Yeah, I'd try to stomach the first Fifty Shades book again than read that fanfic, honestly.

It was a Hobbit fic. It was very nice and smutty.

It was an Avengers fic, a Bruce/Tony one. It was okay, I guess, but the one thing that really stood out to me was that it was less than, I think, 4000 words, multi-chaptered...and it had taken them over four months to complete it. Just...it boggles my mind, because I'm one of those people who regularly writes ten thousand words a week. :/

(Not saying this is bad, but the length vs time is about the only thing I can comment about on the fic. The rest was meh.)

All the Best and Brightest Creatures. I am a walking fandom cliche sometimes, but good god do I want more.

I'm only about five chapters in so I don't know how accurate my summary is, but it's really good so far.

Classified. A fun bit of Mycroft/John fluff where it turns out that John's security clearance is higher than Mycroft's, for BAMF!military!John reasons.

I reread a fill for one of my prompts on a kink meme so I can leave some good feedback for it. It was really hot, so that should be easy!

Something about everyone in the world having wings but most people cannot see them. Tony Stark can tho and...just some wingverse avenger fic.

It was ok

The last fic I finished was this Silmarillion + Histories of Middle Earth fic: http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/archive/home/viewstory.php?sid=1086

It's a slightly different take on the earliest history of the Elves, from the awakening at Cuivienen. Apparently it won an award for Most Delightful Heresy. =) Loved it.

Currently reading this story by the same author:
http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/archive/home/viewstory.php?sid=106

This author is definitely becoming a new favorite of mine. She's amazing.

Good.

Slave!Loki is in the hands of Master!Tony who is attracted to the not-God-anymore Loki and has no idea what he wants to do with him. Meanwhile an anxious Loki is letting his imagination run free and making himself sick by thinking about how Tony will be punishing him for his transgressions against the humans.

It's full of delicious angst!

A slightly long Shameless US fanfic, the paring was Mickey/Ian which is one of my favourite "canon" ships! It was slightly AUish, but still pretty much in character.

I don't remember the name though, but it was kinda the reason to why I didn't show up here before I went to sleep last night...

This and its sequel:

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/8197451/1/Fantastic-Elves-and-Where-to-Find-Them

It's... surprisingly good, actually!

Harry Potter is left behind by the Dursleys at some park/forest thing, and after reading a book on fantastical creatures at a library, he decides that he is in fact not human, but totally a forest elf. And things just go from there.
