I liked Season 2's slowly mounting clausterphobia, myself. Plus it had the great "is this a safe place/there can't be a safe place" thing going on. I think everyone but Shane really wanted to believe the Green farm was an oasis, and seeing it destroyed utterly at the end was the decisive nail in the coffin of the notion of ANYPLACE safe.

And y'know.. Sophia. I'm probably the only one who liked how that was handled. Desperation to frustration to acceptance that she's gone... AND THEN THERE SHE IS. And she's been there the WHOLE time in their idyllic little down-home wonderland. Loved it.

Agh, Dale though! DAAAAAAALE! D:

I like your description "slowly mounting claustrophobia" I also didn't hate season 2 as much as everyone else seems to

it's good to have a breather, it makes the impact of the finale (and sophia) all the better
