Wait, a lemon tree? What do you usually use for henna paste?

I just use henna powder and lemon juice? A slightly acidic liquid breaks down the cellulose in the henna plant powder. And then the resulting acidic paste (both citric acid and lawsone) permeates better to the keratin of your hair, making it last longer.
