THIS THIS THIS.

Steve is not a caveman. If anything, he'd probably be more baffled by societal changes than technological ones.

I addressed societal changes in a fic I wrote, Pepper was like "This is how things are done now" and Steve was like "Lol we had that then, it just wasn't as open as now"

Because it's true enough, from what my own grandparents have told me. Things have and haven't changed that much in 70 years.

Could I please get a link, if you're comfortable with sharing it? It sounds intriguing.

Same here, that sounds neat.

And I agree with "THIS THIS THIS" anon; societal changes are probably more difficult to deal with. Computers and cellphones are just a matter pf pushing buttons, etc. Changing the way you view people and their relations with each other--THAT'S a big deal.

Thirding the request for that fic. I'd really like to see it!

" Computers and cellphones are just a matter pf pushing buttons, etc. "

Tell that to my mom OTL

Thank you. :)

I don't even know about the societal changes: he was an art student in New York City, and the Howling Commandos were more integrated than the military at large would be for years. I don't see him being baffled by the possibility of equality.

You know societal changes doesn't necessarily mean social equality? There's more to how society has changed than stuff like that, for fucks sake.

This, baby, this

We already see him using technology and even having a relatively solid understanding of the modern world in the Avengers movie. (i.e. "Isn't that a little old fashioned?", or the tablet in the deleted scene...)

While things might be a bit confusing for him at first, understandably, he'd probably catch on very, very fast. The guy was friends with Howard Stark at the height of WWII - if it's one thing he'll be used to, it's learning how to use new and strange technology on the fly.

Even the societal changes will start to have an understandable pattern to them after a while, especially once he's caught up on his history.
