It's not hard to figure out what button does what. You press this, it does that. Easy.

The part he'd have trouble with is all the unspoken etiquette that everyone else takes for granted. He'd be the guy forwarding all the stupid chain e-mails he gets because he's never seen them before and thinks they're funny.

I've read a fic like that! I think that at some point he sends pictures of lolcats to Fury (or was it to Tony?).

I like this fic and would like a link.

You know, that'd probably be tons funnier in comic form, but I really appreciate Steve's capslock. My aunt capslocks everything. I don't know why she's never stopped. I just read it as shout-talking.

By the way: your icon is adorable.

Aww, thanks! -internet hug- I got it from elaminator.

Never mind, I don't know how to hyperlink and even if I did I'm not sure s/he'd appreciate it.

I envy you your friends and family.

Trying to talk my mother through doing anything new on the computer is a chore. God help me if I ever had to explain a video game, or my tablet to her...

God, same.
And I swear I've been explaining my grandmother how to use a very simple cellphone on a regular basis for something like ten years now.
And don't even get me started on my grandfather and his brilliant idea to get himself a computer. At least he learned how to read newspapers and check the weather forecast online once I bookmarked ALL the sites he needed for him and told him to just "click that".

Oh my god, this. My father regards any technology more advanced than a VCR with tremendous trepidation. He never did learn to program his to record stuff, either.

I still haven't quite taught my mother the concept of "minimizing." Any time she tries to something by herself on the computer, I'm almost guaranteed to hear at least once, "Help! It all went away!"

My mother recently called me up on the phone to ask me how to save a document to a specific folder instead of the default Documents folder on her computer. After I'd already explained this to her a dozen times over vacation when I was with her.

Steve would pick up on technology pretty fast, but not because technology is easy to use.

Though (ime of course), older relatives I have who struggle with the computer (like, my siblings and I had to tag-team on teaching because it wore us out type of struggle) picked up on iPads, so much more quickly and end up preferring them. Possibly because of things like one touch vs double-click, visibility of program icons, no need for mouse or trackpad, etc. In a similar vein, I'm curious if Windows 8 will help or hinder accessibility... In no way are we putting game consoles in front of said relatives anytime soon though XD
