Exercising hard every single day is not actually that good for you. Your body needs rest days to recover and build new muscle. An hour every other day is approximately the recommended amount, maybe slightly over even, so if all you're trying to do is stay healthy it's perfect. Six days out of seven is the maximum you want to be doing though.

Came here to say this, you can work out lightly on some days but working out hard every day is actually pretty bad for you. Add that to any work or outside stress and you are going to end up giving yourself a heart attack.

Oh, so that's why I get a day off every week for distance.

My runs range from 60-110 minutes where I run about 8-12 miles, so I engage in pretty hard exercise every day except for Mondays when my coach gives me a break. :)
