OMG, I thought that Doc is surely a Ravenclaw. He is very brave, but still I think that his overwhelming love for science outweighs his courage.

I don't know, the guy loves discovering new things, but a lot of it is about adventuring through it. He doesn't just want to read about it, he wants to have a big, dangerous experience. He spends most of his time rescuing. It's kind of like Hermione--does she love books and learning? Yes. But apparently her bravery surpasses even that.
