I love Shinji to pieces :'D I really think it takes a special sort of bravery to keep on living and fighting for a cause despite everything pushing you to quit (including your own death wishes).

Dave Strider is more of a traditional Gryffindor. He doesn't feel like he's a hero, but he wants to be brave and good and it fits nicely his Knight motif.

As for my HS girls in Hufflepuff, they both are very friendship-minded and loyal to the end, and they both plan ahead and do things very deliberately; though Kanaya is more of a hard worker than Roxy and Roxy is more willing to improvise on the spot.

It wouldn't be brave if it came easily, no? I know a lot of the criticism of his character is that he spends so many episodes being apathetic, but his values and will to fight do come out during crisis imo. Especially taking the Rebuild movies into account, Shinji's like the Neville Longbottom before there was a Neville Longbottom.

Dave would probably come from a family of Ravenclaw or Slytherin, and it would bug him that he ended up in the "hero house." It's not even so much that it's like every student ends up close to being that extreme anyways, but he'd wonder why the sorting hat got him so wrong. Even though he's totally a George Weasley type imo And then it does turn out he's a for big damn hero when he saves the day by kicking evil's ass.

The Hufflepuff one I agree with, if only because the house itself seems to be of the passive HS class variety. And those girls are basically the support crew for their group of friends.

Exactly, it's not easy :3 Shinji is not the typical shonen hero (he's not even a "hero" in the classical sense), and I guess the portrayal of his depression makes a lot of people uncomfortable. Depending on the ending, he accomplishes his journey and grows up in different degrees. Maybe I'm too soft, but my favourite ending is still the original anime one, not The End of Evangelion. And he'd definitely do better in a Hogwarts AU, of course.

Dirk and Bro are both very Slytherin! And Rose and Mom strike me as Ravenclaws. I think Dave and Roxy would be disappointed to not be in the same Houses than their families, but would grow up wonderfully in there and would end up accepting it and being proud.

Ahaha, I'm a sleep dodger XD I need to stop doing that, seriously, but it's so hard!
