From a purely political angle, it's realistic enough - not 100 percent of course, extremes are pulled just that much more for the sake of drama. But I used to be a reporter in two small counties in two states, and I've covered various councils, commissions, school boards, etc. for 19 years, and I can tell you the personalities in this book are quite realistic compared to some of the thousands of articles I've had to write in the line of my job.
