2. Aww, I know how you feel. That's how I am when I post really smutty stuff. I'm always kind of blushing as I post it and thinking, "Great, people are gonna read this and think I'm a perv." Especially when it's some kinky pairing like twincest or something...I don't write or read a lot of fluff, because with most of the things I ship it doesn't fit, you know, like LxRaito from Death Note, but there are some pairings I have that I love to read fluff of, like IchigoxIshida. And whenever I have a twincest pairing, I rarely read anything besides fluff. I guess it really doesn't depend on the genre so much as what pairing you're trying to fluff up. I dunno, that's just my opinion.

7. You and I are in the same boat. I've not only been sitting like that, but I hold my cellphone like he holds them, and I've been doing that for years. In fact, that's what got me into Death Note. One of my friends saw me sitting like him or talking on my cell (I can't remember which now) and she was like, "Hey, you remind me of this character in a manga I think you should read!" XD

22. I know EXACTLY what you mean. I actually don't like when my pairings go cannon, because really it always seems to kill something in the plot of the story (unless, of course, it's the main plot, like in Twilight or something) UST > Cannon Couples any day.

Doesn't everyone want that? :) I'd love to have a relationship like that with someone, because I can be such an annoying twat, it'd be good to know that there's someone out there that will always put up with it because of how much they love me...But I always figured in my case it wouldn't be so much a Mori to my Honey but a Dante to my Randal, because I'm more of a sarcastic dick than a hyperactive, hypersensitive kid. ...well, at least not hypersensitive. XD

14 - I disagree. That sounds too much like reciprocal reviewing in general and that bugs me. We can only be friends if I'm reviewing your fics like you review mine?

I'd agree it'd be nice but I'm not sure it's worth cutting off a friendship over. Doesn't sound like much of a friendship on the secret!OP's part, either.

It's easy enough to find out about interpretation of character from scripts, wikipedia, summaries and general consensus as those are most often written by fans (with the exception of scripts and still how is reading the dry breadcrust of script with no facial expressions or intonations going to give you anything more than what they said and what others said to them).

That's the problem. Fan interpretation. If a fan is in love with a character, they will only accentuate those things they loved and downplay those nastier aspects of the character's personality.

You are in love with an interpreted (regurgitated) concept, not the original character as presented in canon.

NOT THE SAME THING.

Love the concept, love the interpretation and have a blast, but I still won't consider you a 'fan'.

OMG, seriously! Except, I never thought it would be canon to start with. I always thought, still think, that the fangirls/fanboys pushed the writing staff towards it because they were nothing but friends until sometime in season 3. But it could be cute, it's just not in canon, I agree.

Not at all. I don't think the person the OP reviews is being much of a friend at all. In fact, I think the OP is being taken advantage of.

But if I'm wrong, and there is a friendship there worth saving, I don't think there's anything wrong with saying, "Hey, it hurts my feelings when it seems like you don't take an interest in my writing like I do in yours." I just think getting it out in the open is best.

WORD on this. Though I've never seen Weiss Kreuz, a very similar phenomenon is happening with another fandom I used to love, and honestly, I think it's absolutely ridiculous if people cry elitism at fans who simply ask them to understand the canon first-hand.

1. I can kind of relate, although when I get to the point that I grow any attachment to characters from fandoms I'm not into, I know it's time for me to actually watch/read/play said canon.

Pardon my strong opinions on this subject, but if you can't be bothered to watch the canon of a character you claim to be a fan of, then yes, you really are reflecting a huge lack of respect towards them, as you're implying that everything worth knowing about them can be garnered from scripts and second-hand opinions. I don't think it's unreasonable for people to ask that other fans actually watch the show or play the game they claim to be a fan of before they jump into fandom, and I think it's ridiculous when people cry elitism and hierarchy at that simple, common-sense-based request.
