1. Have you never loved a character in a series you couldn't stand?
Yes.

17. Ahahahaha me too. (I've been a hardcore fan since 1997.) Well, actually, movie makes me want to play the game and pretend the compilation never happened.

21. LOL SECRET WIN. Even though I know I would be one of the morons who was all DURPADUR THREE PIECES this are difficult?!? I fold under pressure. :(

PS 2, I love fluff! I'm not confident at all writing it, so seeing well-written fluff makes me happy. Post always pls.

iawtc, all of it. Mostly the FF7 part though. I just pretend that shit is fanfiction and go on my merry way. DoC didn't happen either.

It makes it tricky to play with characters from the two though, because I don't consider them real characters. It's like playing with an OC, or a KH character.

Yes yes yes. I don't have any disrespect for people who enjoy the compilation, but it will all always feel like OOC fanfiction to me. I can't help it. People tell me to just take it as the fanservice it was meant to be, but if I can't enjoy it (and I have really given it all a good try) I'd rather just go back to the original source.

Unfortunately true on the second part. It's made me kind of drift away from playing FF7 characters. I also can't really find a place in the fandom anymore, since there's now an influx of people because of the new canon and it's kind of awkward for people who don't accept or would rather ignore the new canon.

Especially when you play characters like Cloud or Reno, who are vastly different in the movie.

Ngh so true. Cloud lost just about everything that makes him interesting and Reno is unrecognizable to me. :[

Sephiroth also became a depressing cliche, whereas before there was at least a human quality to him.

Reno is now the missing triplet from Ouran.

I think what Square fails to realize is that it's not the angstyness that makes Cloud cool, or Sephiroth's seriousness, it's the part where they're both absolutely nuts in different ways. A Cloud who isn't a little nerdy is just Squall, and a Sephiroth who isn't crazy is... evil Squall.
