lol, I just finished the game. Otacon does feel like a nagging wife....

but at times did I ever wish I could shut off the codec entirely. Same goes for Metal Gear Rising right now...

Well, they did basically adopt a child together...

But in all seriousness, I think a lot of people feel that way. I remember one secret about Snake and Otacon helping a guy overcome his prejudice. It was sweet!

But yea, I feel you; ever since I've been playing the series they've felt like more than friends. I'm not ashamed to admit that their relationship is one of my favorite parts of the series (or, well, at least the games they appear in) and I get lots of warm and fuzzy feelings thinking about them and their scenes together. (Which are often so brilliantly written and touching. Arg.)

Me too! I played MGS a while back and meant to at least get through MGS2 and MGS3 but didn't. Maybe after Rising.

I love MGS music. I loaded a bunch onto my iPhone the other day since I'm in such a Metal Gear mood lately. (You should have seen me when I hit act 4/Shadow Moses in MGS4. SO MANY FEELINGS. And then they had to go and play the MGS1 vocal theme. Sooooob.)

(That one comment did make me sad that he doesn't have a best friend or someone similar to speak of. :()

Ahaha, I bought the MGS HD collection intending to play at least one of the games before Rising. Didn't happen. And now I want to get MGS1 as a PSone classic. Oops.

MGS music is some of my favorite music! The characters in this series go through so damn much already, but the ridiculously dramatic/epic music makes it even harder to sit through emotional scenes. I think I said this the other day...but, DAT MICROWAVE HALLWAY SCENE! The last section of the game is one of my favorites out of the entire series; it's really well done. ...Now I really want to fight Ocelot again.

(I know, I know... He does have friends though? Even if those relationships are not in anyway comparable to Snake's relationship with Otacon. He does have a wife and kid though, so there's that! Maybe in time he'll become BFF's with Kevin or something. Granted that nothing happens to him...)

Yup, my HD collection is waiting to be played too. It can be hard to find the time for these things. (Download it off the playstation store, or buy the disc for the original playstation?)

I will never, ever will not be able to ship them. Their relationship is thoroughly hinted in the games and even Word of Kojima has said it's the most important one in MGS4. They have repeatedly said how the other taught them to love, and they have a family together.

Maybe it's not canonically sexual, and there are people who don't fancy them as sexually together, which is fine. But it's sure as fuck they're a canon romantic ship.

The 4th game was painful because how they were falling apart and yet yearned for each other so much :(

Out of all the games in the series I've played (starting from the original Metal Gear) this is the only pairing I can ship involving Solid Snake.
