That guy is supposed to be ATTRACTIVE?

I don't get it. At all. He looks like some scuzzy dude you'd see working somewhere, and barely notice.

Is the attractiveness because he has blond hair and blue eyes? I know some people like that, but otherwise this guy is just utterly plain.

I sort of agree with the other anon here in that he's not doing too badly for his age.

But I still don't get it personally. I didn't realise some GoT fans thought he was "hot" until recently!

Same here. Never really registered Jorah as particularly attractive or unattractive, and would never have predicted that fandom drools over him so much. Different strokes, though.

I really don't understand why people past elementary school make comments like this.

"There are people who find someone attractive that I don't? HOW CAN THAT BE? I AM THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING!"

Because attractiveness is an extremely subjective thing, and we all tend to judge according to our own standards because those are the standards we have. You can learn to apply other people's standards, but it takes effort and there's not necessarily much of a payoff.

You don't have to apply other people's standards, though. All you have to do is say, "eh, guess people have different standards from me." Grasping that other people will like different books, movies, TV shows, and hobbies from you doesn't require learning to apply other peoples' tastes. Why should grasping that other people will find different things attractive be any different?

He's incredibly charismatic and has a gorgeous voice. I don't find him all that attractive when I just see pictures, but he's smoking hot when you actually see him moving and talking.

I think he's smoking hot, but I also saw him in a play about 10 years ago where he was 100% smoking hot then, and ... yeah.
