Oh right, it's Israel's fault gays are persecuted and killed in Palestine. That's why homosexuality is perfectly accepted everywhere else in the Middle East.

Since we're talking about a Jewish villain being a dick despite the holocaust, Israel's misdeeds are on topic. Trying to say "but Palestinians have faults too" is just weaksauce distraction tactics. You're not defending Israel, just trying to shift the attention to someone else's misdeeds.

If you'd tried to shift it to Palestinian missile attacks, then you'd have been borderline on topic at least.

For the record I wasn't trying to cause this much wank. It's just an example of the results of the Holocaust being more complex than memorials. The OP was amazed that someone who had been through something so horrific could do anything but pet puppies for the rest of his life.

The original topic for discussion is a Jew who wants to kill everyone. I don't think it's really that far-fetched for someone to bring up Israel's relationship with Palestine, given that Israel was created to be a Jewish state, and Palestine is somewhat oppressed.
