please tell me that clip was somehow doctored. what in the christ is going on? is he literally a robot or something? is that some kind of plot twist?

He thinks of himself as kind of working like a machine, refers to his brain as a hard-drive and idk that's really all there is to it. Words frequently show up on the screen when he's thinking about stuff, though, to illustrate the way he processes his thoughts.

It is all very silly.

This show is such a bizarre take, I don't even.

Eh, I dunno... I watched Elementary this week, and during the scenes where Watson or Sherlock were looking at their phones (which seemed to happen more than usual this week), I found myself really wishing they'd put the text up on the television screen a la Sherlock. That would be so much better than trying to squint at on the small dark cell phone screens. I'm just glad I have a DVR, and could rewind to see what the text said.

To be fair, my explanations aren't really the best way to judge a whole show. Even as I was typing that it sounded a lot dumber than it did in context.

Not that I'm aggressively defending Sherlock. I'm kind of neutral to it.
