Also, don't forget, when Morrison wrote Planet X, he intended it to be Magneto. Later retcons don't change that planet X is in fact proof of magneto being written like he was in Planet X.

Didn't say it was in character. but it's an example of magneto being written that way because it was magneto. Horrible magneto, but magneto all the same.

Magneto was written to be so out of character that the first thing that happened when Morrison left the title was they changed it so that he wasn't even involved.

This is the same company that let Dr. Doom wear his girlfriend's skin after making a pact with demons stay in continuity. That's how bad it was.
