23. I think Haruhi is actually extremely interesting and refreshing when considering the vast majority of shoujo manga heroines. Don't get me wrong, I love shoujo manga and read a lot of it, but most of the female leads are just a rehash of the same character (perky, ditzy, give-it-my-all) who fall for the same basic guy (serious, aloof or hotheaded, cold to the heroine but slowly warms up). It's an okay set-up but Haruhi is such a wonderful change.

27. I have never seen this, but I do scoff at people who think anime are so funny but that no American shows (animated or live) are. As if that somehow makes them more sophisticated. Some anime and manga I think are funny, but I am proud to have a very American sense of humor and laugh way more at Futurama and the Simpsons and the Office and Scrubs.
